What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a in injectable collagen stimulator that is made from poly-L-lactic acid. When Sculptra is placed beneath the tissues, the body responds by producing collagen, fibrin, and elastin increasing volume naturally and gradually over time.

PLLA was discovered in the early 1900s and approved for cosmetic correction in 1999. It is a very safe, well-studied product.

The treatment methods used to deliver Sculptra at Profile Aesthetics are replicated from many 1:1 hours with our friend and mentor Dr. Shino Bay. These techniques are designed to minimize adverse effects and also will not interfere with a future facelift for our clients.

Who is Sculptra best for?

Sculptra is a versatile product that can be administered many ways making it a product of choice for adults who are seeking to age slower by preserving their youthful volume, or those with mild to moderate lines, wrinkles, volume loss, and loss of skin elasticity.

Where can Sculptra be used?

Sculpta can be used in most areas of the face and body. Our “Celebrity Secret Sculptra” full face treatment includes the Temples, Cheeks, Jawline, Chin, and Nasolabial Folds (smile lines). You may choose to also add on your neck and décolleté.

Our second most popular Sculptra treatment is “BootySculpt” where Sculptra is used to shape your booty and fill in hip dips.

Sculptra can also be used to target specific areas or concerns such as acne scaring, neck laxity/lines, fine lines, knees, chest, hands and more!

What are Sculptra results like?

Sculptra treatment achieves fuller-looking skin over time. As the treatment progresses, the skin appears plumper, more resilient, and rejuvenated, typically reaching maximum effect about five to six months after the injections. The “Sculptra Glow” is seen around the 2 week mark.

Results are long-lasting, often enduring up to two years. Optimal results may require multiple injection sessions spaced approximately 6 weeks apart, totaling up to 3 sessions initially. After this initial phase, only an annual follow-up is typically needed to maintain results.

Is there downtime after a Sculptra treatment?

There is no downtime after a Sculptra treatment. Initially you will feel numb and more full as sterile water and lidocaine is used to distribute the product. You will be instructed to massage the treated area to evenly distribute Sculptra. A good rule of thumb is 5-5-5: Massage the injected area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days in a row.
